On request
A state opens when its rules have been reviewed by a licensed attorney in that state and a partner attorney is confirmed. Until then, requests for that state are recorded and nothing is served or filed. Every state is on request today.
Active

How the case is filed

Both filing paths are planned and neither is available yet.

Filed by the attorney (planned)
The attorney is to file the court packet through their own court account and record the result on the case.
Direct e-filing (planned)
In states with a court e-filing connection, the packet is to be submitted electronically under the attorney’s court account. No such connection exists yet.

In both cases the attorney is the filer of record and approves the exact documents before anything is filed.

States and DC

Each state page explains what is planned there, with sources for any state rule it shows.
